Other Resource Lists

(While I tried to include the most helpful resources I could here (i.e., resources that lend themselves to one-on-one communication, individual reading, etc.), there are plenty of other great resources, including regional resources, listed in these links. Some of the resources are specific to men and others aren’t, but they are all helpful for male survivors.)

**Male Survivor (regional, international, and online resources)

**Husband Battering: Men and Domestic Violence

**Help for Battered Men: Online Resources

**Help for Battered Men: National and International Resources

**Help for Guys: Help for Victims (some resources for men, many general resources)

This is so important.

SLAMS that reblog

This is amazing @sexuallymonsterous you are a good person for putting this list together.

Not all that related to this blog, but I wanted to share this anyway. To all survivors of abuse, please know that what happened to you was not your fault, you didn’t deserve what happened to you. You matter, you’re strong for still being here & putting up with what you’ve had to. Hold on. Know that you’re loved 💛💜🖤

It took me 46 years to realize how consistently I had been emotionally abused as a child and adult, until I pulled away from my abuser and stopped letting him keep me in a toxic relationship.

It’s never too late to reclaim your life from the people who hurt you, because you deserve to be happy and to live your best life.

<< How White People Handle Diversity Training in the Workplace >>

since1938:

diversehighfantasy:

One of the white participants left the session and went back to her desk, upset at receiving (what appeared to the training team as) sensitive and diplomatic feedback on how some of her statements had impacted several of the people of color in the room. […] [Later] her friends wanted to alert us to the fact that she was in poor health and “might be having a heart attack.” Upon questioning from us, they clarified that they meant this literally. These co-workers were sincere in their fear that the young woman might actually die as a result of the feedback.

All of this is going to feel very familiar to anyone who’s blogged about racism in fandom.

White fragility functions as a form of bullying: ‘I am going to make it so miserable for you to confront me — no matter how diplomatically you try to do so — that you will simply back off, give up, and never raise the issue again.’ White fragility keeps people of color in line and “in their place.” In this way, it is a powerful form of white racial control. Social power is not fixed; it is constantly challenged and needs to be maintained.”

So a while back I drew up a tattoo design for my best broski @darkangelofcourage and recently we actually went in and got it inked~!!
It’s an Ōkami-style version of Kurama the Nine-Tailed Fox from the Naruto series~
I’m quite proud of this work and it fills me with joy that so many others like it too.
It was brought to life by Rachael of Designer Ink in Knoxfield, Australia.
Overall it took about 4 hours to complete, and it looks quite stunning.
I hope to draw up more tattoo designs in the future with the dream to see them brought to life, this is the second of my designs to be tattooed onto a friend, the first being a Fairy Tail design.

This is really nice work……..                                                                                via Art LOVER

THAT’S how you make lace??

And THIS is why lace was a worn primarily by royalty and aristocracy for so many centuries..  It was expensive and time-consuming to produce.  Wearing it, and wearing LOTS of it was a blatant show of wealth and excessive consumption.

Mechanically-produced lace wasn’t really a thing until well into the 20th century, but there remains a wide gap between the quality of  mass-produced and hand crafted

In general textile arts are highly underated considering the amount of skill and time needed to execute pretty much anything.

the most unrealistic thing about tv shows is how literally out of all the characters on the show no two characters have the same name??? like take any group of 20 white people i guarentee you like five of them are john

Grayson’s Assets

  • National Ass Day: Dick Grayson (Various Continuities)
Today is National Ass Day (17 October) and it would be rather asinine of me not to mention one of the famous backsides in the DC Universe – if not the Comic Fandom.

Now, for the greatest debate – Dick Grayson’s most valuable asset! Is it Nightwing’s finger stripes (Middle Right), hip stripes (Middle Left) or thigh stripes (Upper Middle)? Could it be his Discowing golden feathers (Lower Middle) or his vigilante utility belt from Batman: Arkham Knight (Upper Left) or his spy gear from when he was a superspy for Spyral (Upper Left)? How about his scaly shorts and red tunic from during his days as Robin (Lower Left) or his civilian unmentionables (Lower Right)? Or do you prefer Dick Grayson au naturale (Center)?

Wait, what did you think I was talking about? XD
